More on the Kitchen Redo...  --  Wednesday, September 3rd

Tiles...

When we last left our heros, they were valiantly installing kitchen cabinets

Not ones for sitting around, our dynamic duo decided to don some work clothes and display their skills at tiling.

So here we go--

Temporary Tiles

First, we wanted to see if the tiles work in the kitchen. We were a little unsure, but in the end we decided to go with these tiles

After the decision was made, the wheels were set in motion. We prepped the work area--

Setting up the work area

Cleaned up the wall in preparation--

A blank canvas

And glued up some tiles--

First tiles up

My neighbour lent me his water saw--

Cutting tiles

Annnnd done--

All tiles up

Of course, our little Friday helped a bit--

Dog

Everything put back--

Our Kitchen

We'll pick the grout and then take more pics when that happens.

For now it looks great. See all pics here--Kitchen Reno

John and Tracey's Stag and Doe!!  --  Monday, August 18th

The (second) moment we've all been waiting for--(the first being the wedding (obviously!!))

I'm honoured (and more than a little humbled--and that's saying something for me) to be part of John and Tracey's wedding party!

So with much further ado, the wedding party brings you the 'Party before the Wedding Party'--the 'John and Tracey's Stag and Doe' show!!

If you want to have a fantastic time with food, fun, and festivities, book Saturday, September 27th on your calendar.

Find someone that has tickets for this event (Rick, Maryann, Mark or even me!), have 10 bucks in your hand and get yourself a ticket!

Or should you not have the ability to find us before the Grand Happening, just show up at the Fruitland Community Centre at 7 p.m. on the aforementioned Saturday, September 27th--again with the double-fin in your hand and you--yes YOU!--can partake in this fantastic phenomenon!

Everyone's invited!

Contact me if you need directions or anything else--my e-mail addy is on this page (somewhere) or just hit the 'Comment' button smile

More on the kitchen  --  Sunday, August 10th

A reminder as to what we want the kitchen to look like

Sandy and I did some more work in our kitchen. We added some upper cabinets.

This is what it looked like before we started--

White cabinets anyone?

And then off the wall

Can see where they painted

I couldn't pull out the nails, so I just grinded them off

Grinding marks

Then you have to put the Ikea cabinets together

Just like LEGO bricks

And then put into place

First cabinet up

All cabinets up

That was a bit of work

And then the doors

Almost done

Then we decided to take the plunge and change the counter top as well

Now it's done

We'll do some sort of backsplash later. For now we're good with lots more shelf space!

See all cabinet goodness here--Kitchen cabinets

More here as we do it!
